Trick Shot Maggie is my go-to gun for Gaige. The bullets ricochet naturally, and with close enough they have a 50% chance to aim towards an enemy. I just rapid fire in the general direction of enemies and everything dies very quickly. I can't believe nobody has pointed out the ricochet fibber.

You can go melee by speccing into With Claws and farming a Hide of Terramorphous but it's not exactly her most effective build, as both Krieg and Zer0 are far better melee characters.
